Information on the use of cookies

The purpose of this “Cookie Policy” is to describe how the site is managed with regard to the use of cookies and the related processing of personal data of users who consult it. Cookies are small pieces of data that allow us to compare new and past visitors and understand how users navigate through our site. Based on the purposes pursued by those who use them, we therefore identify two macro-categories: “technical” cookies and “profiling” cookies. Depending on the entity that installs cookies on the user’s terminal, a distinction is made between the operator of the site that the user is visiting (“publisher”) and other entities that install cookies through the former (“third parties”).

Technical cookies
These are those used for the sole purpose of carrying out the transmission of a communication over an electronic communications network, or to the extent strictly necessary for the provider of an information society service explicitly requested by the subscriber or user to provide such service. Technical cookies can be divided into:

  • Navigation or session cookies, which ensure normal navigation and use of the website (allowing, for example, to make a purchase or authenticate to access restricted areas);
  • analytics cookies, assimilated to technical cookies where used directly by the site operator to collect information, in aggregate form, on the number of users and how they visit the site;
  • Functionality cookies, which allow the user to navigate according to a set of selected criteria (e.g., language, products selected for purchase) in order to improve the service rendered to the user.

These cookies are not used for any further purposes and are normally installed by the owner or operator of the website.

Profiling cookies
They are aimed at creating profiles related to the user and are used in order to send advertising messages in line with the preferences already expressed by the same user in the context of web browsing.

Third-party cookies
These are the cookies installed, during web browsing, on the user’s terminal by parties  other than the site operator (publisher). For this type of cookies, the user must be adequately informed about their use and thus express his/her valid consent. As established by the Guarantor, companies that make use of cookies to profile the user, for marketing or profiling activities, must notify the user who accesses their site. Specifically, when a surfer accesses the home page or other page of a website, he or she must immediately see a prominently displayed banner clearly indicating whether cookies are being used to track the user and send him or her targeted advertising and whether such data are being shared with other parties. In other words, the banner must clearly state:

1) that the site uses profiling cookies to send  targeted advertising messages;

2) that the site also allows the sending of “third-party” cookies, i.e., cookies installed by a different site through the site you are visiting;

3) a link to a broader information notice, with indications on the use of cookies sent by the site, where you can deny consent to their installation directly or by linking to the various sites in the case of “third-party” cookies;

4) an indication that by continuing to browse (e.g, by accessing another area of the site or by selecting an image or link) you give consent to the use of cookies.

How cookies work and how to delete  cookies?
Each user can set the browser  of your terminal so that it accepts/rejects all the cookie or display a warning whenever a cookie, in order to be able to evaluate whether to accept it or not. The user is enabled, however, to change the default configuration (of  default) and disable the cookies  (i.e. block them outright), setting the highest level of protection. The ways to block or delete the  cookies from your device vary depending on the type of terminal and depending on the type of browser. If you are using a fixed device (pc, laptop, notebook, netbook and the like), you need to take action on the browser settings:

If you use a mobile device (smartphone or tablet), you need to change the settings of your terminal:
